Accessibility Statement

We are committed to providing equal access to all.

Reentry Wheels is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor to be able to learn about our program, apply for a vehicle, and make a gift, regardless of how they access the web.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This website was built with a target of WCAG 2.2 Level AA, along with broader accessibility and usability best practices.

We do not claim or guarantee full conformance. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and parts of this website may not yet meet every success criterion. Where we fall short, we want to hear about it and fix it.

Compatibility

This website was tested across multiple browsers, devices, and assistive technology:

  • Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Devices: Windows, macOS, Android, and iPhone
  • Screen readers: tested with NVDA, and built using standard techniques intended to work with other screen readers

The site is designed to work with keyboard navigation alone, to remain usable at increased zoom levels, and to respect reduced motion preferences.

Technical specifications

Accessibility on this website relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. It depends on these technologies being supported by your browser and any assistive technology you use.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, there are known limitations. The most significant one involves a third-party tool.

Donation forms (Givebutter)

Our donation forms are provided by Givebutter, a third-party fundraising platform, and are embedded into our Donate and Home pages. Because this content is created and controlled by Givebutter, we cannot modify it and cannot guarantee its accessibility.

Givebutter states that its platform is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and identifies its donation forms as not yet fully compatible with screen readers. Users have also reported difficulty with keyboard navigation within the donation form. Known issues in embedded donation forms of this kind can include amount selection controls that are difficult to reach by keyboard, form fields without clearly associated labels, and validation errors that are not announced by screen readers.

Alternative: If you have trouble using the donation form, please contact us and we will personally assist you in completing your gift by another method. No one should be unable to give because of a barrier on our website.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, or need information from this site in a different format, please tell us:

We aim to respond within three business days. Please include the page address and a short description of the problem so we can find and fix it quickly.
